We Met Our Fundraising Goal

Great Job Challenger! 

 

The future belongs to our children ONLY if they are properly prepared via education.  The reality is that Washington State’s government simply does not provide adequate funding to meet ALL the needs of our students.  Families have stepped up to fill the gap, and support their local PTAs to provide enrichment programs that motivate our children to excel.

Challenger PTA understands that families have limited funds and budget expenses accordingly. The start of the school year is filled with countless forms and fees from Challenger and other schools (for families with multiple children). The PTAs of all the schools your children attend appreciate all donations of any amount. Your monetary investment is needed to support your child’s public education. Donating to PTA is not required, but it is appreciated. Your family is a member of the school community and your child does benefit from and enjoys the many programs PTA offers (PTA membership does not fund our programs).

DONATIONS SUPPORT

  • Free Welcome event for students and families ($400.00).
  • Science Enrichment - 2 experiences per grade level, could be ‘Science to Go’ or other enrichment experience ($5000.00).
  • My Summer Journal and Eager Reader prizes.  There are multiple prize levels and all the prizes cost money, 500 students earn prizes ($3000.00).
  • Math Blasters-1 week program, prizes for 500 students ($1500.00).
  • Festival of Cultures ($1000.00) and the Science Fair ($1500.00). Table rentals are part of both events.
  • Physical Education and Music- Equipment for each subject ($500.00 each).
  • Comet Cash- Full time teachers and specialists are given a set amount to help purchase supplies their classroom needs.
  • Grants- An opportunity for staff to apply for funds to purchase items that will enhance student learning. These become property of Challenger Elementary.  Examples include, audio library, classroom sets of books, Active board, musical instruments etc ($5000.00).
  • Teacher Appreciation ($800.00).

Not meeting fundraising goals could mean the elimination of the above programs.

HOW TO DONATE

  • “Zoom Around the Moon” Walk-A-Thon is a FUNdraising event. The challenge is $75 per student. Pledge your child, help them ask family and friends to sponsor them to reach the goal.  Click Here to Donate
  • Donate an item for the raffle baskets, buy a raffle ticket.
  • Can’t participate in the Walk-A-Thon? Make a donation anyway!
  • Complete your employer’s online Matching Funds donation process. Indicate Challenger PTA as the recipient.
  • Volunteer your time in the classroom and/or at PTA programs and events.
